Thirteenth Sunday of the Year 1 Kings 19:16b, 19-21; Gal. 5:1, 13-18; Luke. 9:51-62    little brother avi bala bitra                                            26th  June  , 2022 Every human person in today’s world seeks to find meaning in his or her life.   People particularly young ones are often discouraged when they are unable to perceive the way of life and aim to search for it in wrong and absurd ways.   Every human person has a purpose to fulfill in life. All have a specific task and are individually called by God for a task or a mission.  The call that God gives is personal.  We will not comprehend the mission easily unless we are totally attentive to his calling.  There is the constant search for God in the heart of every person.  There is a need of quietness and withdrawal to recognize  the presence ...

IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY Is 61: 9 -11, 1 Sam 2: 1, 4 - 8, Lk 2: 41-51  little brother avi bala bitra                                            25th  June  , 2022 The feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary invites us to celebrate her single-heartedness. Today’s Gospel reading brings out one dimension of her single-heartedness namely, her pondering heart. Mary faced a number of situations that she did not understand. The nativity narration and today’s Gospel reading bring out the above claim explicitly. However, the same is implicit in the following events: when she hears Simeon’s prediction, when her Son appears to be telling her at the Cana wedding that this does not concern us and when she hears Jesus say, “Who is my mother?” and above all, at the foot of the Cross. Nevertheless, Mary kept moving on pondering over all the events in her heart. Thu...

It is devotion to Jesus Christ Himself, as we meditate on his interior life and on His threefold love: His divine love, His burning love that fed His human will, and His sensible love that affects His interior life.   The devotion to the Sacred Heart began on Calvary when th...

It is indeed a great feast, a feast of joy, but above all a feast of mercy.   Elizabeth, the mother of John, who was called barren received the gratuitous gift from God, the extraordinary favour of conceiving a son in her old age.   John the Baptist played a unique role in the history of God’s people. He acted as the bridge between the Hebrew and Christian Testaments. He basically belongs to the former but was present at the beginnings of the latter. He encouraged his disciples to follow him and he becomes the bridge i...
