ASSUMPTION OF BVM Rev. 11:19;12: 1-6; 1 Cor. 15:20-27; Luke. 1:39-56   The 15th of August… … the Independence Day of India and the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary! The Solemnity of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary celebrates Jesus, the Son-King sharing His Glory with His Mother.   Twentieth Sunday of the year Jer. 38:1-2, 4-6, 8-10; Heb. 12:1-4; Luke. 12:49-53   The Church is the external expression of the Kingdom. In the Gospel of today, Jesus invites us as he tells his disciples not to be afraid because it is the Father’s desire to give us the kingdom.     In today’s First Reading, from the Book of wisdom, the author reminds us that people who gain wisdom through their relationship with God enjoy advantages in life. Here the author encourages the readers to persevere in their life of faith in spite of the opposition and difficulties.     The Second R...
